Welcome to the Allergy Free Zone!
Hi, my name is Stacey – I have an M.A. in Education and over 8 years experience working in the Special Education field. My experience not only includes educating others, but being an advocate for those who have any type of special need. I currently write the blog posts on this site, along with articles and books on food allergies.
It was over 12 years ago that my sister and I experienced my nephew having a severe reaction to peanut butter. At that time, we had no knowledge of food allergies and it was extremely scary. It was something we knew we never wanted to see happen again and we wanted to help other children avoid the same experience.
My sister (Denise) has 3 sons, and 2 of them have life-threatening peanut/nut allergies. She has a B.A. in Graphic Design and started designing items to help keep them safe at school. In 2010, I put together her talent to design and my passion to educate, and started the Peanut Free Zone.
A few years later I started researching different diets and looked into how they can help decrease inflammation and pain. I have followed a very strict diet, avoiding the Top 8 Allergens and sugar, and understand what it’s like to make meals that are free of major allergens and have to “pass” on things I desperately want to eat.
In 2015, I started working as the Publications Manager for the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Connection Team (FAACT). The same year, I also changed the name from Peanut Free Zone to the Allergy Free Zone.
Our new site provides the following Food Allergy “TIPs”:

We’re also a proud supporter of Break The Grey. They’re reaching our youth in their schools – encouraging them to make better life choices and bringing hope to those who are hurting.
